Whitetail Deer Body Hair - Short Fine (for Caddis Wings)
The finest short hair on the body of the Whitetail is found on the back during early season. Above 40 degrees north latitude, that period is during the first 15 -20 days of October. The hair will almost always be dark in color. It will flare some, but not as much as the hair on the side of the deer's body. Short fine can be used for dry fly wings, dark caddis wings, and tailing on size 12 and smaller dry flies. Length: 1/2 - 1". Size: 2" X 3". Remember that the Whitetail deer ranks in the top 5% of all mammals in terms of its body hair variation. No two Whitetail deer are exactly alike. Finding the "perfect" hide is not easy. Lightly Bleached. Item# 699
