Whitetail Deer Body Hair - Short Coarse - Light

The short coarse light color deer hair is the most sought after hair the Whitetail deer has to offer. This hair is concentrated just above the white belly hair in an area that is about 6" x 14". Some similar length hair can be found later in the season in a small area on the lower rear leg of the whitetail. The hair is creamy color and has very short black tips or no black tips at all depending on the deer. Length: 1/2" - 1 1/4". This hair will flare easily and stand up with moderate thread pressure using a 70 denier nylon or polyester thread. Despite what you may read in some catalogues and magazine articles, fine hair does NOT make good Comparadun hair because the finer the hair the less it will flare. The idea is to have the hair stand at 90 degree to the hook shank! Item# 695
